Ready to Get your Audience to Respond?
You're showing up. You're posting consistently, sharing what you know, and putting real thought into your content. That's the hard part, and you're already doing it.
So let's talk about the fun part: turning all that consistency into a two-way conversation. Engagement isn't a mystery reserved for brands with big budgets or a viral streak. It's a system, and once you build a few intentional moments into your marketing, the people who already love what you do finally have a reason to raise their hand. Here are the strategies we lean on for our own brand and for our clients, plus one we think is worth testing this quarter.
Ask questions you actually want answered
The fastest way to spark a conversation is to invite one. When you ask something your audience genuinely wants to answer, they will.
If you're a wedding planner, try "What's the one detail from your own wedding you still smile about?" It gives people a reason to share a real story, and stories are what pull others into the comments too. The best prompts make your audience feel seen, so ask about the things you actually want to hear.
Give your audience something to make, not just consume
Some of the highest-engaging content hands people a tool they can use. A styling checklist, a quick quiz that reveals their brand personality, a template they'll save for later. When your content does something for someone, they save it, share it, and come back for the next one.
This is one of our core beliefs at PBC: presentation is strategy, not decoration. The same is true for what you post. When every piece earns its place, your feed starts working for you.
Show the parts you love most
Polish builds credibility, and letting people in builds connection. The behind-the-scenes moment, the client win, the honest note about your process, those are the posts that make people feel like they know you. And people love to engage with brands they feel connected to.
You don't have to overshare. Just let people a little further into the story you're already living.
Run a giveaway that grows your list
Now for the one we want you to test. A well-built giveaway does two beautiful things at once. It creates a spike of genuine excitement, and it captures the contact info of people who want to hear more from you.
The key is running one that's easy to set up and structured to grow your list along with your reach. That's why we've been recommending Sticker Mule's Give platform. You pick a product you've already ordered or choose one from their marketplace, set your number of winners, and decide how people enter, either by dropping their email or engaging on X. Once it's live, you share the link. When it ends, Sticker Mule draws the winners at random and ships the prizes for you, so you can focus on the creative part while they handle the rest. You can even set up a raffle where everyone wins.
The part we love for service-based businesses is that entrants become part of your audience. You're building an email list of people who raised their hand for your brand, and that list is an asset you actually own. It takes minutes to set up, which makes it the rare marketing move that's both high-impact and genuinely low-lift.
Engagement is the beginning of a relationship
Here's what we want you to remember. Every like, comment, and entry is really a person leaning in, telling you they want to be closer to what you're building. Every question you ask, every tool you share, every giveaway you run is a warm invitation for the right people to say yes.
Don't feel like you have to try and do all of these things at once. Try one and see how it goes for you and build from there.
You've got this.
