Simplicity is key



When it comes to creating a logo for your company, simplicity is key - yes, even if your business is complex! You'll want to make sure that your logo and brand is speaking to your target market by being easily recognizable so that when they are in need of a product or service that you offer, your business is what comes to mind over competition.

Maybe you own a handy-man business that offers an array of different services (painting, landscaping, fixing, and cleaning) - believe it or not, your logo does not need to incorporate a paintbrush, lawnmower, wrench and mop to communicate what you can offer your potential customer.

Your logo plays a small role in the grand scheme of branding and it's usually not best to try to say it all with that one element. There are many other branding pieces that can relay your message and purpose as a company, such as:

1. A Website: where it's appropriate to be a little wordy and share photos of your portfolio (two ways to show your customer who you are and what you do in one space).

2. A Slogan: where you can include a catchy phrase to identify yourself and what you do.

3. A Business Card: where you can list your services and guide your potential customers to your website.
